What began as a means to escape, seek solace & commemorate a loss; unexpectedly evolved into something far greater...
Where it all began
In December 2021, we suffered the loss of our wonderful dog called Moomin. Some people consider pets to be just animals, however Moomin was far more than a pet to us. He was a much loved & cherished member of our family. The absence of his presence and huge personality was profound. The emptiness within the house was so overwhelming that we found it difficult to remain indoors. In an effort to avoid the emptiness, we turned to nature as a means to escape, seek comfort & ultimately found an unexpected way to commemorate our dear little Moo. Long walks quickly became an integral part of our daily routine, providing an opportunity to escape & embrace the magnificent countryside and natural beauty that surrounded us.
During these walks, we began to notice natural materials scattered across the ground as far as the eye could see - an abundance of pinecones, acorns and conkers. Inspired by these gifts from nature, we decided to gather some pinecones and use them to create Moomin his very own memorial Christmas tree, adorned with LEDs. Our unique decoration attracted considerable attention. In response to the highly positive feedback we received, we decided to explore and develop further.
This ultimately led to OSND being established and the beautiful trees, decorations and gifts available to you today.

Materials such as real locally sourced pinecones, acorns, hessian, cardboard & wood are utilised in our decorations.

We have a great respect for nature and ensure all of our materials are responsibly and ethically sourced with minimal environmental impact.
We only collect natural materials that have already fallen onto the ground.
We ensure sufficient materials are left behind for mother nature.
When necessary, we gain the appropriate consent before collecting and taking the fallen goods from the ground.
